New Members Orientation and Paddle

A small but enthusiastic group of some of our new members came out for the orientation and paddle on a beautiful early June afternoon on the Monksville Reservoir. There were 5 new members all of whom had paddling experience. In addition Tom and Debbie Colby were there to keep the captain in line. I really appreciate their assistance. A brief talk about water safety (wear that PFD and zip it up), trip courtesy and plugs for Swim-with-your-boat Day, we got on the water and paddled up to the head waters of the Wanaque River. Water was high due to the recent rain.

By the way there were 3 solo kayaks and one tandem canoe among our new members.

A good time was had by all.
