Meander Through The Meadowlands

In spite of the heat, we had a lovely paddle this morning starting at Mill Creek Point Park. There were a total of 13 people -- 1 canoe and 11 kayaks. We followed the marked canoe trail going out and then came back via one of the high water trails (including a rest break under the eastern spur of the NJ Turnpike), ending in our namesake Hackensack River before returning to the put in.

For those wanting to try this trip, here is a tide chart site (you can also find the tides for other parts of the Hackensack River, Hudson River, and other places): https://tides.mobilegeographics.com

It is best to do the trip around high tide, although the canoe trail is passable at lower water levels (it does get a little mucky around the put in at lower water levels).

We'll plan on doing at least one more meander before the end of the season.
