Hackensack River

This was a lovely trip on the Hackensack River with Jim and Joan in the lead and Elana acting as sweep. The put-in was at River Edge and the take-out was at the Ridgefield Park DPW. Jim introduced everyone and set clear safety guidelines. In what was nothing short of a miracle, the 13 boats were in the water at 10:30 am as scheduled and out at 1:30pm about 7 ½ miles later. A few people ate lunch at the take out, while others scooted off to pick up their cars and load their boats.

It was an overcast but mild day - the water though was a bit cold but not unbearable so. To provide a better footing at the mud bottom take-out Jim gave everybody the red carpet treatment with a blue carpet remnant. Many people collected garbage along the way - when this trip goes out again, it would make sense to distribute garbage BAGS.

A lovely (and safe) time was had by all.
