Moonlight Over Monksville

A beautiful summer Sunday night....a calm, body of water....an evening of going from day into night....an evening of good friends and good food sharing....an evening without the moon----until around 10 p.m. when I was driving home over Skyline Drive and was delighted and nicely surprised to see the rusty-colored moon!

We hade eight people paddling--Lee, Lori, Lauren, Jason, Ken, Greg, Robert and me. The trip had to be postponed from a few days earlier (Friday) due to the threat of thunderstorms.

Most of the wildlife we saw was contained to some of the dead trees near the island where Lee pointed out there was an actual campfire pit....just watch out for the poison ivy!

We'll try for another moonlight paddle in August....watch for details.
