Cedar Creek, NJ

With weather in the high 70's and clouds most of the day keeping the strong sun away, seven members and two guests enjoyed a fabulous day on Cedar Creek. Although the water was very low with the current drought, and many said the creek was not passable, a call into the local outfitter the day before indicated that it would be fine. Water level was at about 43cfs, and now we know that the creek is absolutely passable at that level.

A little shake and bake over a couple of logs, and of course the portage over the dam is all that was needed. The river still moved swiftly enough, and the twists and turns provided the fun we all love. It was a bit breezy so swimming was not in the cards this year, but a few stops for wading, eating and stretching legs was enjoyed by all. A short tailgate once we arrived at Dudley Park provided a few snacks including cherries and garlic popcorn. A fun day for all who participated.
