Harriman Snow Shoe
by Dave Miller

Well, it was chilly, but we had a great time in Harriman SP on Saturday.
Lots of fresh powder in the park, plus there was a group of about 15 hikers that headed out on the trail JUST before us.
(So not only did they have a fire going for us when we got to the top, THEY broke trail for us.)

So some of us used snowshoes, and some micro spikes.

Several miles on a gradual uphill, lunch and tea at the top, then a beautiful trek back down.
A lot of animal tracks, fresh evidence of the pileated woodpecker, explored the cave shelter, and enjoyed some blue sky.

You have to be ready to change your schedule and go snowshoeing when the conditions allow because you don't get many days like this so we treasure them.

All back safe and sound and I'd like to thank the crew for attending (Dave, Lori, Carolyn, Gail, & John) and Gail for the photos.
