Trip started out with about 23 people, consisting of 16 kayaks, 1 solo canoe, 3 tandem canoes and one Eagle inflatable canoe. We ended up with the same except for Jan taking out at Double Trouble so getting an early start for the ride home. Nobody fell in the entire 9 miles! Fall colors were pretty much in full bloom and we had clear skies.
Our shuttle went pretty smooth with the help of Cathy H., Melissa H., and Chris D. driving the drivers back to the Dover Forge put-in.
The trip went pretty much as usual except water was a little low in the beginning, but not enough to really slow us down. Actually might of made it a little quicker because the beginning tricky turns had slower moving water so was easy to not get stuck. We got a little spread out first 2 miles, but regrouped at the alternate put-in just before the lake and then paddled on to lunch at the dam. It was a little windy there, but the dam kind of blocked it a bit and some ate over by the shore with the bushes blocking the breeze. After lunch and portaging the dam we did a quick stop at the Double Trouble Beach about a mile down which is nice for swimming (Jim Mc was in the water up to his knees holding canoe teaching draws?) in warmer water weather.
After taking out at Dudley Park we got our shuttle drivers and boats back to their cars and then had a relaxing dinner at the Shady Rest outside in the Rose Garden.
Thanks to Robyn for organizing the trip although she couldn't make the trip.

See you on the river or the lake or maybe even a ditch?
